GOD IS OUR DEFENSE ~ WAIT UPON HIM

God's Prayer Power - Session 17

Our scripture today is Psalm 62:5-6

"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved." (KJV)

What is God saying to us?

We do not have to run back and forth or be in a panic. We can rest in Him. We need to be patient and wait for God only. He is the only one who can give us hope. He is our rock. He is the one who will save us. He is like a walled city around us. He will protect us and be our defense. As long as we turn to Him and trust in Him, we will not be defeated.

Read the scripture Psalm 62:5-6 and meditate on it this week. Ask God to reveal to you His truth.

Prayer

Help my soul, Lord, to find rest in You alone, to realize my hope comes from You. You alone are my rock and my salvation. You are my fortress, I will not be shaken. I will wait upon You Lord and will gladly submit everything to You for it is in You I put my trust for now, and for always. Amen

May God bless you in the coming week. If you are in need of prayer, email sreichert48@yahoo.com.

HE SAYS HE WILL DO WHAT WE ASK

God's Prayer Power - Session 16

Our scripture today is John 14:13

"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." (KJV)

What is God saying to us?

1. He says whatsoever. He does not stipulate this or that He uses the word whatsoever.

2. He tells us we must ask it in His name.

3. He will do it for us.

Why? So the Father may be glorified in the Son. This brings praise to God. So you will know, He does this IF we believe in Him.

Read the scripture John 14:12-13 and meditate on it this week. Ask God to reveal to you His truth.

 Prayer

Oh God, Father of my Lord Jesus Christ I ask You to give me strength to resist temptations. Bring to my remembrance who You say I am. Fill my head with Your wisdom and my heart with Your love.Your Son’s words have told me many times  to come and ask for whatever I need in His name. Because I do this, He will be faithful to answer and do this so the Father may be glorified in the Son. I ask these things, Lord,  be done according to Your word. Amen

A PRAYER FOR GOD'S MERCY, BLESSING AND LIGHT

God's Prayer Power - Session 15

Our scripture today is Psalm 67

"God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise thee, God; let all the people praise thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

What is God saying to us?

1. He will bless us.

2. The earth will yield her increase.

3. God will judge the people righteously

This Psalm is  a prayer to God. The prayer is asking God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us. It is also asking God to make His way known upon the earth - which means every where, every nation and His saving health unto all the nations.

I like the boldness in which the Psalmist ask first for these things from God. Then he says, let the people praise you God. Let the nations sing for joy.

If you will read this Psalm carefully, you will see that if we praise God these good things will be done for us. What are they?

1.God will judge the people righteously.
2. He will govern the nations.
3. The earth will yield her increase.
4. He will bless us.

Would you not think that all the people would be willing to praise God for these good things?

Charles Haddon Spurgeon said, " It is strange how little use we make of the spiritual blessings which God gives us, but it is stranger still how little use we make of God himself."

Prayer

God be gracious to our country and bless her. Please let Your face shine down upon this land.Let Your salvation come upon us and let Your ways be known on earth.Open the eyes, ears, and hearts of its people to receive You and know You as their Lord and Savior.Stir our hearts and put Your desires in us to want to follow You and praise You.Let all the people praise You.Help us to turn to You, to be glad and to sing for joy.Rule over the people justly and guide our nation with Your hands. Then cause our land to yield its harvest.Bless us oh God. Amen

This week spend time in Psalm 67.  Ask God what He is saying to you.
Ask Him for revelation knowledge concerning these words.

May God bless you in the coming week. If you are in need of prayer, email sreichert48@yahoo.com.

 INSTRUCTIONS TO NEW CHRISTIANS

God's Prayer Power - Session 14

Our scripture today is 1 Thessalonians 5:12-24

“Dear brothers, honor the officers of your church who work hard among you and warn you against all that is wrong. Think highly of them and give them your wholehearted love because they are straining to help you. And remember, no quarreling among yourselves. Dear brothers, warn those who are lazy, comfort those who are frightened, take tender care of those who are weak, and be patient with everyone. See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to everyone else. Always be joyful. Always keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Do not smother the Holy Spirit. Do not scoff at those who prophesy, but test everything that is said to be sure it is true, and if it is, then accept it. Keep away from every kind of evil. May the God of peace himself make you entirely pure and devoted to God; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept strong and blameless until that day when our Lord Jesus Christ comes back again. God, who called you to become his child, will do all this for you, just as he promised. Dear brothers, pray for us. Shake hands for me with all the brothers there. I command you in the name of the Lord to read this letter to all the Christians. And may rich blessings from our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, every one. Sincerely, Paul”
