The Magi's Visit-What To Give?

"When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route." Mathew 2:10-12

Imagine what Mary and Joseph must have thought when these three Magi came into the stable bringing gifts to their baby.

We can assume they explained they had seen the star in the East and had followed it to the Christ Child. With them they had three gifts: Gold, frankincense and myrrh.

There is a spiritual meaning concerning these three gifts. Gold recognizes Christ kingship, frankincense is a symbol of deity and myrrh a symbol of death.

Mary and Joseph would have pondered these things in their hearts.

I often wonder what is it we could bring to Christ to honor Him. The thought comes to mind that I can give Him my all. Recognizing Him as my Lord and King for now and forever. I can strive each day to put Him first in my life, obey Him, pray and meditate on His words. Surrendering everything to Christ gives me everything!

Blessings and Merry Christmas!

Mary's Answer To God

I am amazed at the courage Mary had when the angel told her she had been favored by God to bring forth the Christ Child. Are you wondering why I said courage?  Because Mary  was a teenager, not yet married; she is told she will supernaturally become pregnant.

People would talk, she could be ostracizied , and Joseph could turn away from her. She could lose everything. Yet, this young girl's faith was so strong she said yes. Luke 1:38 says, And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her."

Would I have had such courage? Would my faith have been that strong? I can only hope! And Yours?

Billy Graham said, "One of the greatest demonstrations of faith in all the Bible was Mary's answer to the angel, accepting God's will for her life ––no matter the cost."

What will our answer be to God?

Mary's Experience The Week Christ Was Born

This week will culminate in the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As I was thinking about writing this post today, my thoughts went to a young girl, traveling with her new husband from Nazareth, a city in the northern region of Galilee to Bethlehem for the census. A young girl who was nine months pregnant.

How difficult it must have been for Mary, during this particular week. She was nine months pregnant, had to ride a donkey, which would not have been comfortable, but especially being pregnant. It says it would have taken about four days for them to walk the distance between Nazareth and Bethlehem. The distance was between 70 and 90 miles. The terrain was unpaved and had steep slopes, with changes in elevation. Imagine what it must have been like for Mary.

Then after a long journey, they are told there is no room for them at the inn. She is close to giving birth. They need shelter. What were they going to do? No one knew that the Savior of the world was about to be born!

The Innkeeper directed Joseph to the stable, he must have noticed their desperation. I can see Joseph now, gathering straw and pushing it together for Mary. The animals surely wondered what was happening.

This week, let us give thought to what Mary and Joseph went through. Putting ourselves in their situation, gives us a better understanding of what happened as we get close to the birth of the Christ Child.

Blessings!

Are You Listening?

Just Listen

God has touched my life with these words, and I share them with you so He can do the same in your life. He loves to commune with His children. By reading His words we learn more about Him. We develop a relationship with Him. We talk to Him, and if we will listen, He will talk to us through His word.

God talks to His children the problem is we just don't listen.

He wants  to help you in your everyday walk and to help your family. We need God's help in our everyday lives. He is waiting for us to ask Him to come in and help.

Blessings!

Do You Have Hate?

Jesus said, "If anyone says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen." 1 John 4:20 ESV

Our Lord makes it very clear, if we love God but hate our brother, which means anyone, then we lie about loving God.

Makes you think doesn't it? We probably all have been guilty of hating someone at sometime in our lives . . .and if this is so, then we could not possibly have loved God, because God is love.

To hate someone because of the color of his skin, believes different, from a different country, and different ethinicity. . .are we not aware God created all human beings? Do we not know their blood is the same color as ours?

One day, I will stand before God, and I do not want to hear Him ask me, why did I hate. I love God and I try to check myself often to make sure hate does not get into my heart. As a child of God, I need to practice what the Lord God tells me to do to please Him. Maybe if all of us did, then the hate we see being shown on TV would not be there.

This Christmas season, let us remember Christ came to earth as a baby, to grow into a man to live among us and experience what we do. Then gave His life up for us all. That means 'all'. He forgave us of our sins and now when we accept Him as our Savior we have eternal life.

Blessings this Holiday season!

Jesus Answered

Matthew 22:29 "Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God." (KJV)

In other words we don't understand because we do not know the scriptures, nor the power of God. If we knew what God's word says then we would have the knowledge we need to deal with the everyday things that come our way. We would know God's will and we would not have to worry like we do.

Try reading a Psalm, like Psalm 23. What is it saying to you? Spend some time reading it, then asking God to reveal to you what He is saying to you through His words. The more you come to know Him the more you will understand your position in Him.

God Bless.

What Is The Problem?

That is probably one of the truest statements ever quoted from a person's mouth. Throughout our lives we meet many problems on our journeys. Some are easy to work out and some are devastating.

We as humans try to solve our problems by ourselves, forgetting that we have someone who will help us in whatever the problem or situation may be.

His name is Jesus. He understands problems. He understands devasting situations. He above all, understands all.

So why is it we trudge alone trying to get through these things?

Going to your knees is one of the best ways to hear what He has to say.

That isn't the only way to pray. But it is one of them. I find it also reminds me to be humble and reverent to the Lord. I feel free to tell Him what I need, what is going on, and I feel a sense of Awe knowing He is present, hearing me.

Blessings!

He Talks To You

Jesus is talking to the Sadducees. He told them they werewrong. They did not know the scriptures. They only read the first five books of the Bible. They ignored all religious writings except the first five books of the Old Testament which was the Law of Moses.

But He is also talking to us.

We do not know the word of God and because we don't know the words of God we don't know His power that is in His words.

I've always envisioned this scripture like this: Imagine my parents telling me they have given me everything I need to live a good life. They show me the box it is in. Then I decide not to open the box and see what they have given me. Can you imagine doing that?

Well, if you haven't opened up the Bible to see what God's words say, then you also don't know the power that is in His words. Power for you to live an abundant life overflowing with His love. You don't know how much He loves you. You don't know all the wonderful blessings He has for you.

The Bible contains everything we need throughout our lives.

Blessings!

He Responds To Repentance

Billy Graham said, "The wonderful news is that our Lord is a God of mercy, and He responds to repentance."

I am so glad God provided a way for us to become free from our sins. To know I have forgiveness helps me to get up each day and open my day with prayer. Just talking to the Lord gives me such peace. Because I have repented, I don't have that sin blocking my relationship with God.

Prayer:

Thank you Father, for what you have done for me. You gave your son, Jesus Christ to take my place on the cross so I could have forgiveness of my sins. He took my sins and died for me. Thank you. In Jesus Name and because of Him, I can come direct to you.
Amen.

Ever Wonder Why You Hate To Be Told No?

Okay, what is God saying? He is telling us to get rid of doing wrong, to clean out the inside and outside.

I have noticed people do not like being told what to do. Think of how children are at different ages; they do not like being told what they can or cannot do. Some kids would push the envelope as far as they can, and some adults are the same way. They do not like being told what to do either. This is called a rebellious nature.

Superfluity means excess, oversupply, something unnecessary. Naughtiness means a little bad. Some call it a little mischief. When we behave in manners that are harmful to us, it hardens our hearts.

God says put that out of your life. The word in King James is filthiness. I am told that in the Old Testament this word was tso'ah, which meant both “excrement" or "dung,” as well as uncleanness and immoral impurity.

God wants us to quit doing wrong. When we do wrong, vulgar, evil, or bad things, we put a wall between us and God. He loves us, and He is willing to forgive us and help us turn away from doing things that are wrong. Just like a parent who loves their child and wants to save them, He wants to save us and to give us blessings and favor. Why would we want to turn down God's blessings and favor?

When He talks about engrafting (join by grafting) His word, He is talking about making it a living extension of our life. Why? Because it produces spiritual fruit in us, which chokes out that rebellious spirit. By reading His word, we graft His word in us.

As my children got older, they told me that when they were young, they did not like being told they could not do things or be with certain people. But looking back, they see that I was protecting them, trying to give them direction for a happy, peaceful, and prosperous life.

That is what God is doing––saving your soul to give you a happy, peaceful, and prosperous life, not just here on earth, but for eternity. This is a wonderful gift.

I think that is a good trade!

Prayer: Lord, I repent and turn to you. I ask you to show me areas in my life I need to clean out. Help me remove any filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, inside or outside of my life. Soften my heart, oh Lord, toward you. Put a desire in me to come to know you by reading and studying and meditating on your word so that my heart will never be hardened again. Forgive me for allowing these things to enter my life. Fill me with your peace and contentment and prosper my life not just here on earth but for all eternity. Thank you for not giving up on me when I was rebellious but for continuing to call me to you and to love me. Help me to share this love you have for me with others, telling them how much you want to give them good gifts along with peace and eternal life.

Did You Know God Urges Us?

When I read these verses, I realized that God was giving us instructions as well as urging us. Exhort means urging, strongly encouraging. Now, let us see what God was urging us to do?

He said, “First of all.” Now, stop here for a minute. His words “first of all” should show us that what He is about to ask us to do is important. We are to do it first.

Well, what are we to do first? To make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all men.

Supplication means we are making a request and bringing a petition to God; earnestly and humbly for all men, for kings, those in authority (yes, even those we do not like and those in different political camps).

Prayer means entreat, implore, request. To me, it is talking to God and asking God to have mercy upon all men, kings, and those in authority. Request God to help them make wise decisions for their land and its people.

Intercession means intervening on behalf of another. We can intercede for others by praying for their needs to be met, both physical, emotional, and financial.

Giving thanks means thanking God. Once we have prayed for all men, kings, and those in authority, we need to thank God for answering our prayers for them. They need God too. By thanking God, we let Him know we expect Him to answer our prayers, and we are grateful that He does.

Why does He tell us to do this?  It is for our own good. God truly wants us to live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. That is what He wants for all of us.

Therefore, instead of bashing the political leaders, kings, and all men we do not care for, we need to obey God and pray for them. Remember God is the one who can change things . . .through prayer. This will be pleasing to God. He wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth.

We need to ask ourselves this question: had we rather spend our time doing what God said so we can have peaceable lives, or would we rather spend our time spewing anger, hate, and criticizing others? Where will this get us? There is no peace in this.

I happened to listen to two late-night talk show hosts about three years ago (I have not watched a late-night show since. I do not find bashing anybody funny, nor find humor at the expense of another human being funny.) I was startled that the entire commentary was spent bashing the President of the United States. When I heard them, I at once thought of 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

Prayer: Lord, help each of us to come to you in prayer and thanksgiving each day and intercede for all men, kings, and men in authority everywhere regardless of whether we like and agree with them or not. We pray for them to come to know you, to come into the knowledge of truth, and to have wisdom to lead so that we can have a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. Help us to realize our responsibility as a child of God to pray and intercede for others, not just the ones we love and like, but also for those we do not like. In Jesus name. Amen

Rumors of Wars?

"To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace." George Washington

We all know who George Washington was. I think this quote of his is most profound and ever so true.

Let us pray for peace.

He Will Meet Us Where We Are

" God will meet you where you are in order to take you where He wants you to go." Tony Evans

Anthony Tyrone "Tony" Evans Sr. is an American Christian pastor, speaker, author, and widely syndicated radio and television broadcaster in the United States. Evans serves as senior pastor to the over-9,500-member Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas.

Many times I ask God to keep me on His path and direct my steps. But being human, there are times I get off the path. But, God is faithful, and steers me back on to the path He wants me to walk.

We all need the Lord to direct our steps, especially, to be close to us and help steer us back on the right path when we miss it.

Life would be much easier if we could stay on the path He chooses for us. Let us pray each morning for His direction and guidance so that we will be pleasing to Him.

Blessings

Do You Want a Crumb or the Whole Loaf?

God's purposes are greater than ours! We have heard these words many times. But somehow, we forget they are greater because we are immersed in our own thinking, and what we are wanting. This increases the size of our wants and decreases the size of God.

That is why so often in the Bible, it tells us to seek Him first. Find out what His will is. Then, talk to Him about what He says He wants for us. If we have the wrong desire, ask Him to change it. To put His desires in our hearts. Then and only then will we recognize His purposes are greater than ours.

His thoughts are greater than ours. He is the Almighty God. Creator of heaven and earth. There is nothing He cannot do for us. I sometimes relate this to a child asking the parent for a crumb of bread, and the parent who wants to give the child the whole loaf. Which would you rather have?

When we ask Him for something, I feel it is wise for us to talk to Him first. He may have something better in mind for us. I do not want to miss that. Do You?

What Happens When We Speak God's Word Out Loud?

God said faith comes by hearing. When we speak God’s word out loud what does that do? We hear in our own voice what His word says. This helps get His word into our hearts (in our spirit). In Isaiah 55:11 (AMP) God says: “So shall My Word be which goes out of My mouth; it will not return to me void (useless, without result) without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it”. When we speak God's Word into a situation then that same power goes with it!

When we are dealing with situations we need God's word and power to help us deal with them. We can freely ask the Holy Spirit to lead us to scriptures covering those situations.

When I find those scriptures I write them down and personalized it by inserting my name if it is for me, or if it is for a member of my family or friends I insert their names. I keep those with me and throughout the day I confess those scriptures out loud. Not only does this help but it is a blessing for me.

One of my favorite scriptures, I have many, is "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

God bless you!

Are Your Burdens Heavy?

You may wonder what a burden is. Well, it is a load, normally a heavy one. Picture getting up in the morning full of brightness and cheer, but as you go through the day, every place you go, something to worry about is being thrown into a bag you carry over your shoulder. By nightfall, it has totally weighed you down and all your strength is gone. You try to get into bed, but that bag of burdens is still on your back, and you cannot get it off to get a good night’s sleep. So, you toss and turn all through the night.

Sound enticing? No. But many of us go through each day with our heavy burdens. We pray and ask God to take them, and we quickly instruct him how we want him to fix each one.

And we wonder why they do not change.

Casting your burdens on Him (cares, concerns, troubles, problems) means we release them into His hands. That means letting go. To let go, we will have to believe that He loves us. He cares about us. We are important to Him. He gave His son to die on the cross for us.

God is our all-powerful creator cares and love us. He does not want us burdened down. He wants us to lean on Him.

Until we get to the point that we trust Him with all we are and all we have and believe He wants us to have His best, we will have problems letting go. But we can start today. He wants us to lean on Him for and in everything. When we trust Him, He will hold us up and not let us be shaken. He will defend us, and He will be with us and see us through. He will fight our battles.

Start by putting your focus on God by taking your focus off the problems. You cannot fix them. He can, but He cannot until you let go.

Praise Be to God for His love and devotion to us.

Prayer: Lord, I surrender my cares and concerns to you tonight. I love you. I trust you. I believe Your Word. Thank you for working all these things out for your glory and for my good and for the good of the people I am praying for. In Jesus name, Amen

Are We Interested In It? Afraid Of It? Or Ignore It?

"But God commanded His Love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Even while we were sinners, Christ died for us. That is how much God loved us. Think of all the things we do or have done as humans that we are not supposed to do. Things that are sinful. Even so, He still loves us. He loved us enough to send His only Son to take our place, mine, and yours, on that cross to suffer and die in our place.

That is how much God loves us. He wanted to save us. He wants a relationship with us. He wanted to make sure we had forgiveness for our sins so we could spend eternity with Him. But that was not all. He also wanted us to have a good life, one with joy, peace, and blessings while we are on earth. He wants us to become all He created us to be.

It is hard for our minds to grasp just how much He loves us. We love our families, and we may love them enough to die for them. But would we die for someone who we did not know? That had mistreated us, beat us, spit on us? I will confess I probably could not do that. Oh, I wish I could. I wish I could be more Christ like. It is hard for us humans to understand that much love, unconditional love.

Christ died for us, so we could live. Today, I will be more grateful for what He did. I will also ask Him to help me live for him today and be more Christ like.

You Can Do All Things

Jesus said unto him, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." Mark 9:23

Excellent advice. There is nothing impossible for us if we believe. The thing is, however, some of us are not deep believers anymore if ever we were. So it is hard to believe that any thing is possible for us. Perhaps we need to use our faith in God. After all, He did say all things are possible. Could it be our faith is weak because we don't use it often? Maybe what is lacking is trust. Trust in Him and His word. Hah, believe–trust...perhaps that is what we need to remember. "All things are possible if you believe." To believe you have to trust.

So let's confess to our Lord that sometimes our belief in His word becomes weak and
before long our trust seems to sag. And today ask Him to shore up our trust in Him and strengthen our belief in His word.

Do you want your faith stronger? Do You want God to strengthen your faith? Do you yearn to have peace and quiet in your life? You can. In this book you will see how God works in us. We can do all things through Christ.

Troubles~How To Bear Them?

"Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O Lord, I am oppressed; undertake for me."
Isaiah 38:14

St. Francis De Sales went on to say, "Keep this ever before you, and remember constantly that God's loving eyes are upon you amid all these little worries and vexations, watching whether you take them as He would desire. Offer up all such occasions to Him, and if sometimes you are put out, and give way to impatience, do not be discouraged, but make haste to regain your lost composure."

Everyday we have things that trouble or worry us. Most of them frustrate us, irritate us, and sometimes we lose our cool. But when these things begin to happen we can go to God, tell Him about them and ask Him to help us deal with them in away that will keep us in His perfect peace. Eventually, if we do this, we will be able to let all these things wash over us without getting  'wet'.

Remember he knows all the things that will come at us that will worry and frustrate us. So we can ask for His help with each one. We can trust Him to help us in everything.

We don't know all the troubles we might face in any given day, but God does. And He alone can help us to deal with things that come up if we are willing to follow His advice. In this book you will find how He helped to walk in His peace.

Can You Catch Excellence?

"We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us." Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

This quote of Vince Lombardi's has more meaning than most people realize.

For you see God wants all of His children to obtain excellence.

Paul talks about it in Philippians 4:8 which says,
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

If we walk that path in life, we will excell at all God planned for us as long as He is in the center of our hearts. By doing these things we will obtain excellence in our lives in everything we do. Thereby showing that through Christ others too can obtain excellence.

God has a much better way for us to live our lives. We can have peace in the midst of chaos. This book will help us clean out and make room in your hearts and mindsto live a more excellent life. We don't have to wait til we get to heaven, He wants to help us right now to have a life of excellence. Hope is ours always. The secret is removing the things that block our road to excellence and walk with Him on our path. Choose today, excellence.

What Trials Will You Face Today?

Sometimes we think we just can't bear another thing, God however seems to know just what and how much we can bear, perhaps the secret is letting God help us bear each trial which keeps our focus on Him not the trial. Hence then we will be able to hear him when he tells us the path to walk.

Cardinal Manning went on to say, "If the trials of many years were gathered into one, they would overwhelm us; therefore, in pity to our little strength He sends first one and then another then removes both and lays the third, heavier perhaps than either; but all is so wisely measured to our strength that the bruised reed is never broken. We do not enough look at our trials in this continuous and successive view. Each one is sent to teach us something, and altogether they have a lesson which is beyond the power of any to teach alone."

Perhaps it would be good to pray and ask. . .Father in heaven, grant us this day the strength for the trials that come, the wisdom to focus on you and the trust to let you help us. Amen

Do you feel like you are facing life alone sometimes? That you can not bear another crisis?Do you wonder where your blessings are? Do you feel like giving up hope? Are you constantly fighting fear? Those answers and more are waiting for you. The Lord has the answers. You may find answers to other questions you have. Let God show you, H does have answers. Your faith will grow strong, and you will have the peace you are missing.

Can We Find Peace in Anxiety and Chaos?

If times become tough, we can find it difficult to have peace amid the chaos. Let’s face it. When we experience anxiety whether it be due to medical or financial reasons, family problems, or feel worried and stress due to what is going on in our country and the world we need to be able to find peace. God’s words can give us this peace.

Did you know fear is the enemy's weapon? He uses chaos to create anxiety and worry for all of us. But we don't have to fall into his traps. We can have peace and calm in the midst of the storms in our lives.

Are you tired of dealing with fear, anxiety, and stress? Do you want to know how to stop the feelings of anxiety and fear? Do you want to put the enemy on the run?

In this book you will find help to conquer anxiety, stress and fears. Remember Christ defeated the enemy. He left us instructions. He said, “Do not fear.” He does not want us living in fear, chaos, anxiety and stress. He wants us to live the life God gave us. An abundant peaceful life. We cannot let the enemy steal our peace and joy that belongs to us through Christ.

We can choose to walk with boldness and courage on our journey, Christ shows us how in His words. Throughout the Bible he gives us pearls of wisdom and teaches us to be a conquerer through Him.

 Christ is with us!

Whatever Storm May Come

"The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long." Deuteronomy 33:12

There are many storms in life and one of the lessons I think God would like for me to learn is to cast my cares upon Him. To remember that He is in ultimate control and because of that I am not to fear the storms that come my way.

To cast my cares of the rising storm I must trust in Him to protect me and see me through.

When in the midst of a storm I need to keep my focus on Him. I think a prayer for that situation would be:

Lord God, I know not what storms will come today, but I do know You care for me. Help me to remember that You are in control and will work things out for your glory and for my good and with protective hands will see me through.
Amen.

We all have storms, whether they be physical or emotional storms. There are storms that devastate our lives. A storm can be a job loss, the death of someone you love…spouse, child or friend. Your child could be in trouble, maybe addicted to drugs or alcohol. The storm could be your marriage is crumbling; relationships with loved ones are in jeopardy. Maybe the storm is the diagnosis the doctor gave you.

Storms aren’t just weather related there are also life storms. In these pages, you can find the help you need to come through your storms. You will also learn how to overcome and survive the storms, plus have a life to live after the storms.

Unforgiveness or Peace?

Many times people hurt us with words and actions. Sometimes they realize it and other times they  don't.

We have family and friends who may say or do things that hurt. Yet we are called by God to forgive them. Depending upon the situation it can be difficult to forgive, we as humans like to nurse our hurts awhile. But, this isn't hurting them, it is hurting us.
Doctors tell us our anger stirs emotions that release all sorts of toxins in our body. Toxins we don't need. Some toxins can make us sick.
So when we do get our feelings hurt, just forgive them and move on through your day. Release them to God. Ask Him to heal your hurt and to help them to let go of their anger.
He knows how to reach their hearts. Let us turn to God to have peace in our hearts and stay healthy.

Lord, help me to forgive others and to release them from my unforgiveness. Amen

Is It Hard For You To Love?

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” John 15:12-13.

This may be one of the most difficult things for us to do. Love each other as God has loved us.

Where does love start? Within our own family would be a good place to start. Then we could spread that out to loving our neighbors, you know, the ones next door. And then can we spread that out to love those in our church? School? Work?

I've not found a place in the Bible that says it's okay to not love those people if they are not reciprocating. So I guess it would do not good to go to God and say, You know that guy at work, as been down mean to me, so I can't seem to find a reason to love him.
Wonder what God would say?

Do you feel like you are facing life alone sometimes? Do you wonder where your blessings are? Do you feel like giving up hope? Are you constantly fighting fear? Are you concerned about all the hate that is being spread in the world right now?

It's hard to love others with all these questions unanswered.

But, you will find answers to these questions in this book and many more answers to other questions you have. Let God show you, His answers. Your faith will grow stronger, and you will have the peace you are missing and you will have more love in your heart.

What Are you Expecting For the Future?

We can expect a good future full of hope and the promises of the Lord. What is it about us that makes us want to plan out our lives? Are we aware the decisions we make can affect us and those close to us for the remainder of our lives?

I'm not suggesting we do not make plans, but from experience, I can say that it is very important before we put those plans into action we sit down and talk to God about those plans.

You see, if we involve Him, before we act, he can reveal to us either that the plan is flawed and can bring heartache or He can direct us to go forward with our plans, and perhaps even suggest a better plan.

For me, it is important I talk to him first. For I know He always has my back, front, sides, over and under, and even totally around me.

I believe if we include Him in the planning, we can expect a good future full of hope and  promises of the Lords.

We all have storms, physical and emotional storms. There are storms that devastate our lives. A storm can be a job loss, the death of someone you love…spouse, child or friend. Your child could be in trouble. He could be addicted to drugs or alcohol. The storm could be your marriage is crumbling; relationships with loved ones are in jeopardy. Maybe the storm is the diagnosis the doctor gave you. Storms aren’t just weather related there are also life storms. In these pages, you can find the help you need to come through your storms. You will also learn how to overcome your storms, survive your storms and have a life to live after the storms.

And some of these storm are due to our making the wrong decisions. But, even so, God can still bring good out of our mess. His words say, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 NIV

We are blessed as God's people. All we have to do is avail ourselves of all He offers us.

How do you know what He offers? You can find that out by reading His words in the Bible. When I am reading I ask God what He wants me to know about this scripture? How does He want me to apply it to my life in everyday matters. He wants to give us the answers to these questions. But we first have to ask the questions, and then listen for the answer. Spending time with Him brings us into fellowship with him. This is where we are having conversations with Him, learning from Him. I think it is worth finding out, don't you?
